Vision or plan for entrepreneurship education

The plan is the part of our curriculum and strategy at the city, area and school level. The plan includes all the students and teachers.

We have for example autumn market in September and a Christmas market in December. Students run a cafeteria during the breaks. Students sell homemade cookies for adults.

Teachers and students takes working practices in companies and learn from differents occupations types of businesses. 

Who is responsible for communicating the plan and did you get any reactions?

Headmaster, of course with his staff.

Resources to encourage and support entrepreneurship education

No, but we get some education from Lappeenranta University of Technology, which is our partner.

Focus on student centred learning, integration in different subjects

Yes of course, we think that student centered learning is important. For example social studies, student counseling and household studies includes very much of this. We have very much co-operation with external partners.

Evaluation of entrepreneurship education and learning and by whom

Lappeenranta city's school department and Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) does it in co-operation. Evaluation is a self-evaluation via internet (Measurement Tool provided by LUT).

We invite media to our events, we activate our students in everyday to plan and participate.

We have project days such as environment day, sport day where older stundent helps younger etc.

Additional comments

Our school is the 6th biggest in Finland.

We have 850 pupils from the grades 1 to 9. We have also gymnasium (Lauritsalan lukio which is applying to this project also), and day care at the same Campus.

We have good contacts to Lappeenranta University (Elena Ruskovaara) and Economical reseacrh department (Maarit Mattila, our teacher).
