As the teacher responsible for entrepreneurship, I am allocated 25 hours per year to guide/train teachers

Mellervangskolen; Definition of Entrepreneurial Learning
We believe that when students are engaged in an innovative process, they can develop personal skills that will enable them to navigate their way through the changeable society of the future. Innovative processes also help develop the students' life skills.
Odsherreds Efterskole and entrepreneurial learning in school plans

The School Development Plan includes the following references to Entrepreneurial Learning:

  1. All teachers are trained in 'KIE-Processes' (Creativity, Innovation, Entrepreneurship).
  2. All teachers are trained in 'Index -Design to improve life'.
  3. All teachers are trained in SCRUM and Coaching.
  4. Several projects are run for all students during the year and specific techniques are taught to all students.
  5. We try to make innovation and entrepreneurship influence teaching and learning in specific curriculum subjects.
  6. 'Innovation' is currently one of our key developments and there is a co-ordinator for its development.
  7. We have a few optional classes that focus on entrepreneurship, one of which includes a student residential trip to 'Silicon Wadi' in Tel Aviv (Israel). This subject focuses on making ideas into business and students graduate in the subject when they sell their first product and the bill is paid.
Odsherreds Efterskole; celebrating good practice
We visit our partners. -in Fårevejle, Denmark and Tel Aviv. We see ourselves on television and other media and send out press-information. We buy the products that our students sell and they demonstrate them every time we have guests, including parents, politicians and former students.
Odsherreds Efterskole; cooperating with partners outside school
1. We have links with teacher-courses from Metropol (Ebbe Kromann and Anette Hildebrandt); 2. also, we have been involved with travels to China (and soon Singapore) to demonstrate 'innovative and entrepreneurial teaching' (sometimes with Ebbe and Annette); 3. Metropol students teach our students entrepreneurship while we learn it too; 4. there are Index-courses for all teachers and students; 5. we have SISTERSCHOOLS all over the world; we do some small teaching projects in normal lesson time and within the normal curriculum, sometimes based on problem-solving tasks set by our partners; sometimes we exchange points of view on a subject with our SisterSchools and sometimes we solve it together; we have a pro-videoconferencing facility so we can call eachother during lessons and every year we visit each other.
Odsherreds Efterskole; Definition of Entrepreneurial Learning
Entrepreneurial Learning is about groups of people working together. It creates a value for someone and cannot be learned in theory but takes real-life-learning to get there.
Odsherreds Efterskole; introducing entrepreneurial learning to students

The way we introduce students to Entrepreneurial Learning is as follows:

They are all introduced to our project-management-tool based on Flow-Theory, 'The Project-Arrow', which shows visually where they are to start with. They are also introduced to the 'design-compass' from the index. Especially when we introduce the SCRUM-process, we always have a talk about the role of 'SCRUM-Master' and his 3 'Secret questions'.

The students easily realize that these 3 questions will make them able to ensure that their group is 'Moving', 'Moving in the direction of their goal' and 'Moving as efficiently as possible' whilst giving help to those who need it. They usually see that people asking these three simple questions will help any group to move forward.

Odsherreds Efterskole; support and resources

Our school supports Entrepreneurial Learning through allocation of the following resources:

  • Student-trip for the specific Entrepreneurial class.
  • An Innovation teacher is responsible for the entire innovative teaching programme and is also responsible for spreading the approach to all classes.
  • A classroom is partly allocated for the use of the entrepreneurial class.
  • The entrepreneurial class participates in conferences and other events in Copenhagen, and in Danish Entrepreneurship Awards
  • When two science teams qualified for the finals in a scientist competition, they were both equipped with clothes, business-cards, prototypes, school banners and other resources.
Odsherreds Efterskole; time in the curriculum
Entrepreneurial Learning: 1) is integrated into subjects; 2) takes place during special projects such as the project involving our external partner, Index - 'Design to Improve Life'; 3) occurs during the preparations for our annual 'Project Assignment Week'; 4) takes place during everyday life and preparations for leisure activities or events on the calendar such as 'Grundlovsdag' and '1st May'.
Soeborg Skole; Definition of Entrepreneurial Learning
Entrepreneurial learning is a way of remembering to bring curiosity into learning for the students. It offers an outstanding opportunity for them to understand, listen to and debate with different adults who are searching for the right way to educate the next generation. It is about teaching the students to think: "We can, we do, we make!"
