Vision or plan for entrepreneurship education

Entrepreneurship education is an essential part of our strategy. Our target is to provide all our students with an entrepreneurial attitude and collaborative way of working.

Entrepreneurship is a compulsory part of our own curriculum and in the Upper Secondary Vocational Education in Finland each student must take at least 5 credits entrepreneurial studies.

Resources to encourage and support entrepreneurship education

We have several projects to encourage the teachers to implement the entrepreneurial contents in their teaching and to develop the learning processes.

We have a project manager (a teacher), who is running the YES center in the Metropolian area. Our responsibilities are the secondary level.

Focus on student centred learning, integration in different subjects

Our pedagogigal approach is very much Learning by doing. We focus on student centred learning and encourage teachers to work together (team of tearchers) and to take responsibility for the students success as a group. As a business college a wide range of subjects are integrated to entrepreneurial learning environments:

  • 24 h Camps,
  • Company Programme,
  • Enteprise without Boarders
  • A Practise Enterprise Solution, which is mainly for the english language program (QBA).

We have a close co-operation with JA-YE in Finland and also with certain companies.

Evaluation of entrepreneurship education and learning and by whom

We have been piloting the Entrepreneurial Education Test, which LUT has launched in Finland.

We have taken part to the international Peer Review with Austrian Vocational College in Linz. One of the assessment areas was learning and learning processes.
