It’s My Future

It’s My Future provides practical information about preparing for the working world. Students learn about career clusters, high-growth jobs, career planning, and creating a personal brand. And, through a scavenger hunt, they are introduced to the basic aspects of job hunting.

Purpose and process

It's My Future offers practical information about preparing for the working world. Students explore potential careers, discover the four factors to consider in choosing a career, and recognize basic job-hunting tools.

It's My Future is recommended for  students aged 12-15. It is composed of six sessions, each 45 minutes in length. Materials are packaged in a self-contained kit that includes detailed plans for the volunteer and materials for 32 students.

Session-specific, student-friendly materials are included to increase student interaction and emphasize JA's experiential approach to learning.

How to organise:

The sessions could take place in timetabled lessons as they are delivered by teachers and/or classroom volunters; alternatively, they could be delivered as an extra-curricular activity or as part of an enterprise club.

Fully integrated within the sessions.

Volunteer involvement

Volunteers and entrepreneurs can help by providing real-life examples.
